Working with Angus Council as their contractor  for works comprising the external insulation to masonry cavity wall constructed houses at Knowehead and Knowehead Crescent, Kirriemuir.  The total number of houses was 98 properties of which 24 were privately owned. The properties comprise 96 flats and 2 houses in 24 two-storey blocks social housing  of EWI .

Project  Feature

This project required the contractor to source ECO funding directly from the energy companies.  This was initially being provided by EON energy prior to their withdrawal from the market. This funding gap was successfully filled by the ECO team at SSE in Perth.

Andrew Shepherd Construction has invested heavily in training for these systems and is a BBA  accredited and Green Deal/ECO approved installer of both internal and external wall insulation systems to PAS2030.

Using a Structherm system the upgrading  of these properties to the PAS2030 standard was certified by the BBA inspectors who carried out  both site and office audits during the project. Whilst the insulation of the properties was the prime element, other works to the roof were incorporated taking advantage of the scaffolding erected. Other associated works were also undertaken to the occupied homes: Ventilation, drainage works  and external window painting.
